This one is a small update with a big impact – we’ve changed the app icon! This will change the way that the Stash Hub button looks on your home screen, so look out for the sewing machine instead of the Stash Hub logo next time you’re opening Stash Hub to update your stash or plan sewing projects.
The Design
We received some feedback that the Stash Hub icon could be improved. We love our logo, but our mission is to help sewists fall in love with their stashes. We don’t want anyone to miss out on Stash Hub because they skipped over us in the App Store. Doug played around with a few designs and this is what we came up with:
The design is crisp and clean, using white with our signature Stash Hub teal. The use of the sewing machine graphic makes it immediately obvious that Stash Hub is a sewing app – one of the criticisms of our previous icon was that it didn’t instantly indicate that Stash Hub a sewing app. App icons are also pretty small, so the logo text could be hard to read, whereas the sewing machine logo is much more clear. What do you think about our new app icon?
The Experiment
Here at Stash Hub, we love data, so we decided to run a test to compare the original icon with the new design. We were honestly so surprised with the results! See it for yourself in the graph below. The sewing machine icon (orange) massively outperforms our original logo icon (navy), so we decided to update it. We’re hoping the icon update will entice more sewists to get started on their sewing organisation journey with Stash Hub.
Verify your account
We’re also asking all existing users who created their account using email & password to verify their accounts (along with all new users). There will be a notification in the app to request a verification email. This is a great opportunity to check that the email you used to sign up to Stash Hub is correct. If you notice a mistake, you can update your email address in Settings. Having the correct email address is really important, as you’ll be sent an email if you ever need to reset your Stash Hub password.
Also in this update
- Missing splash screen on iOS has been fixed
- Number of bug fixes
How to update
The latest version of Stash Hub is version 1.25.1. Even if you have automatic updates enabled, it’s worth checking the app store to make sure you’re on the latest version. If you use Stash Hub across multiple devices, make sure they are all updated as you may get errors if you’ve used new features then access a previous version of the app where these don’t exist.
iOS – Update via the App store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/stash-hub/id1610930077

I would love the opportunity for choosing the starting screen. I rarely use the fabric page.
Thanks for your feedback Marjun. This is something that’s on our Roadmap so we’ll have an update including a custom starting screen in the future. Out of interest which screen would you pick as your starting screen?

Love the new logo ❤️
Yay thanks so much! We’re surprised with how popular it’s been!
I totally LOVE the new app icon. Of course it has to be a sewing machine! Love Stash Hub. With this amazing organizational app, I’m working to end my S.A.B.L.E. 😁
Awesome! Good luck with all your sewing projects 🎉
No comment at this time because I have not used the app. LHCP
