Pride Make Along

Join the #PrideMakeAlong this June – a month-long celebration of creativity, identity, and inclusion in the crafting community. Pride month is the perfect time to celebrate LGBTQIA+ lives.

All kinds of makers are welcome to take part in this inclusive initiative, and there are no rules about what to create! Just make something meaningful! Ideas include using rainbow colours, sharing a positive LGBTQIA+ message, supporting queer designers, or wearing handmade items to a Pride event. Follow challenge host @annas_gruenerfaden for more ideas and inspiration throughout June.

Whether you knit, sew, crochet, or craft in another way, your participation helps spread love and visibility. Share your makes using #PrideMakeAlong and help grow this vibrant community!

Sew Blood Pressure 25

Join the heartfelt #SewBloodPressure25 challenge this June, hosted by @beesilva.creates, in memory of her father, who sadly passed away in 2023 due to undiagnosed hypertension. This challenge raises awareness about the importance of knowing your blood pressure and taking action if needed.

Just like we shouldn’t put off investing in our health, we shouldn’t put off our amazing sewing ideas! To join in, sew a garment that’s been on your to-do list for a while. Share your make to Instagram anytime during June, tagging @beesilva.creates and #SewBloodPressure25. Sewists of any skill level can get involved and there’s a prize draw for participants.

You also have the option to donate to Bianca’s fundraiser for Blood Pressure UK. Let’s sew with purpose and help spread awareness – your health matters.

Sew Do It For Heart 25

#SewDoItForHeart25 is a June Sewing Challenge with a powerful purpose. @anakiequilter is hosting this challenge to raise awareness of heart disease. Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women in Australia?

To join in, simply sew something with a heart theme — think appliqué, embroidery, heart-shaped patterns, or heart-printed fabric. Share your creation on Instagram at any time during June, tagging @anakiequilter and using the hashtag #SewDoItForHeart25.

While you’re there, be sure to explore valuable heart health resources from @herheartAustralia. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity with an important message — so why not sew from the heart this June?

Midsommar Sewing Challenge

As summer approaches, it’s time to embrace the timeless charm of the Scandi look with the Midsommar Sewing Challenge. Think simple cuts, natural fabrics, and whimsical details like ruffles and puff sleeves. Top it off with a floral crown and you’ll have the perfect Midsommar outfit.

To take part, sew or style an outfit inspired by this aesthetic and share a photo of your look on Instagram by July 11th. Make sure to use the hashtags #WASQ_Midsommar and #WeAreSewingQueens, and tag the host @seidenkaetzchen_by_dina.

This is a celebration of creativity, not competition — Dina will showcase all entries, with no single winner. It’s all about sharing ideas and inspiration. So why not bring a little Scandinavian magic to your sewing this summer?

MAGAM: Jammy June

Make A Garment A Month is a fun, flexible sewing challenge designed to spark creativity in your garment-making. Each month has a different theme — and this June, it’s Jammy June! The beauty of this challenge is that the theme is open to interpretation.

Will you sew a pair of cosy pyjamas (jammies)? Use fabric in jam-inspired colours or prints? Share a lucky (jammy) sewing success, or a sticky sewing situation you overcame? The possibilities are endless, so let your imagination run wild. To join in, simply create something that connects with the theme in any way that speaks to you.

Share your finished garment to Instagram during June and tag hosts @suestoney @hportemanteau @molly_moo_and_jessica_too and use #MagamJammyJune #magamsewalong. You’re welcome to submit multiple entries and combine MAGAM with other sewing challenges.

#MyMakesJun25

Whatever you’re sewing throughout June, make sure to share a round-up for #MyMakesForTheMonth to be in with another chance of winning great prizes. This challenge is hosted by @sewmuchtodesign every month, so it’s also a great way to keep a record of everything you’ve made throughout the year.

To join in, simply share your sewing projects to Instagram with the June hashtag #MyMakesJune25, plus the challenge hashtag #MyMakesForTheMonth. Also tag @sewmuchtodesign and follow this month’s sponsors to support small businesses in the sewing community.
