Setting app preferences

2 min read

Are you Team Metric or Team Imperial? It’s easy to set your default measurements units and other preferences in your Stash Hub Settings.

To update your measurement units, currency and desired number format, open the app Menu in the top left and click Settings. Alternatively, click here. Metric is the default measurement units for all fields. Your selection is highlighted in green and will be automatically saved to your account.

Number Format #

We have included the option to set your preference for the number format, which allows you to select whether you prefer to use a dot or a comma as your decimal separator.

Currency #

You can select the currency if you want to track your sewing spending. If you change your currency preference, previous entries won’t be converted. If you tend to shop in your local currency (e.g. £GBP) but sometimes buy sewing supplies abroad (e.g. using $USD) it’s best to calculate the exchange rate and enter it into Stash Hub using your local/preferred currency.

Measurement Units #

For units of measurement, these are the defaults used when creating new records and using filters. You are able to set the default units for different types of measurements in your profile as sewists commonly use a mix of metric and imperial depending on the context. For example, you may tend to buy fabric from shops that sell in metres but list the width in inches.

To allow even more flexibility and save you from having to convert measurements, you can also toggle between metric and imperial units on individual fields within records. This is handy if you have set your preferences to metric but use a pattern that only gives measurements in inches, as you can quickly switch between the units. It also means you don’t have to update your unit preference if you occasionally buy fabric by the yard but still prefer to use meters.
