My A/W sewing plans

The weather has finally turned in the UK, meaning it’s the perfect time to consolidate my autumn sewing plans! Planning my projects in Stash Hub is so handy, as I can see all my sewing plans together and keep track of what I need to do.

Sonny Jacket

I’m excited to try out the latest release from Tilly and the Buttons – the Sonny Jacket! I already have the perfect cobalt blue needlecord fabric in my stash, which I bought at the Sew Sustainable Fair earlier this year. I may not have enough fabric for the dramatic prarie collar, but I am adding drama with these incredible rainbow buttons from Pigeon Wishes. I’d love to join in the #LongSleeves23 sewing challenge on Instagram but I think I’ll be cutting it close!

Shay Dress

My Stash Hub sewing plan graphic to make a Chalk and Notch Shay dress, which has a fitted bodice and tiered gathered skirt, using a fabric with a mid-scale floral in autumnal colours.

I have seen some absolutely stunning Shay Dresses over on Instagram so I had to get the pattern for myself! I picked up this gorgeous viscose twill remnant at the Sew Me Sunshine birthday party. I’m even more excited for this plan since I saw this fabric next to the needlecord I’ve earmarked for the Sonny jacket – the bright blue flowers match perfectly and I’m excited to be able to wear them together. Love that an unintentional capsule wardrobe is taking shape!

Witchy Jacket

This project might seem a bit rogue if you’re familliar with my usual style! I play D&D online with my friends and we are planning an in-person meet up later this year. We’ve been invited to dress as our characters, so when I saw this black lace at Rainbow Fabrics at the Knitting and Stitching show I thought it could work perfectly for the witchy vibes of my character. I’m planning to self-draft based on this inspo photo – wish me luck!

Norma Dress Hack

I’ve had this fabric in my stash for a long time. In fact, I shared it as part of a reel I made about still loving your older fabrics – which is the most sucessful piece of content on our account! I had so many comments from the lovely sewing community about this fabric, so I’m feeling motivated to get it sewn up finally! I got these buttons from Ethel and Joan at the Knitting and Stitching Show in London and I think they will be perfect for bringing out the greeny tones in the flowers.

I share all of my sewing projects over on my personal Instagram account @blossomsandwich, so go and follow me there to see how I’m getting along with all my plans! You can also check out the YouTube video about my Knitting and Stitching Show haul, if you want to see some of these fabrics in more detail and hear more about my plans.

I always love hearing about your sewing plans too! Share your plans and finished projects on Instagram by tagging @stash_hub. Can’t wait to see what you’re working on this season.
