How To Use and Save Filters

3 min read

Filters are a powerful way to narrow down your Stash Hub records so you can focus on what matters right now. Whether you’re planning a specific sewing project or just trying to feel less overwhelmed by your stash, filters help you quickly find exactly what you’re looking for.

What Are Filters? #

Filters allow you to temporarily limit what records you see based on selected criteria (such as fabric type, length, or colour). You can apply one filter or combine several together to create very specific views of your stash.

Filters are available for:

  • Fabrics
  • Patterns
  • Notions (select a Notion Type first)
  • Projects
  • Inspiration
  • Marketplace

How to Open Filters #

  1. Tap the Filter icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. The filter panel will open, showing all available filtering options for that record type.

Selecting Filters #

  • Tap on a filtering option to expand it.
  • Select the values you want to filter by.

There are two main types of filters:

  • Sliding scale filters (for example, length), which you adjust by dragging the slider.
  • List-based filters, which have discrete values you can select from.

Some filters include a “No Value” option. This is useful for identifying records that are missing information, so you can quickly fill in any gaps in your stash records.

Using Multiple Filters #

You can apply multiple filters at the same time.

  • Tap Apply at the bottom of the filter panel to apply your selected filters.
  • Results will only include records that match all selected filters.

How Filters combine:

  • AND rule (between different filters):
    • Example: Colour = Blue AND Length > 2m
    • Results must match every selected filter.
  • OR rule (within the same filter):
    • Example: Colour = Green OR Blue
    • Results can match any of the selected values within that filter.

Once filters are applied, a number badge will appear on the Filter icon. This number shows how many filters are currently active.

Tap the Filter icon at any time to edit or clear your applied filters.

Saving Filters #

Saving filters is ideal if you have a subset of Fabrics, Patterns, or Projects that you want to return to regularly.

How to save a Filter Set:

  1. Open the Filter panel.
  2. Select your filtering criteria as usual.
  3. Tap Save.
  4. Enter a name for this set of filters when prompted.

Your saved filter will now be available for quick access via the Quick Filters list (located at the top left, above your records). Tap a saved filter to instantly apply it.

Managing Saved Filters #

You can rename or delete saved filters in two places:

  • Manage Filters at the bottom of the Quick Filters list
  • Saved Filters in Settings

Rename a Saved Filter #

  • Tap the pencil icon next to the saved filter.
  • Enter a new name and save.

Delete a Saved Filter #

  • Tap the bin icon next to the saved filter.
  • Confirm deletion when prompted.

Note: You cannot edit the criteria of an existing saved filter. You could apply the saved filter as a starting point, make your changes, then tap Save to create a new Saved Filter.

Filters are available exclusively with Stash Hub Plus. Click here to find out how to upgrade to Stash Hub Plus.

Upgrading unlocks filters as well as unlimited records and helps you get even more value from organising your sewing stash.

Happy filtering! Enjoy planning your next sewing project with less overwhelm and more clarity.
