Speedily add patterns to Stash Hub
Magic Input for patterns is here! We know that your sewing time is precious, so we’ve been working hard to make it speedier to catalogue your sewing supplies in Stash Hub. If you’re familliar with Magic Input for fabrics, you’ll already know the deal here. Simply copy and paste the URL of a sewing pattern listing and Magic Input will fill in the fields of your pattern record. You can select which images you like and edit the fields afterwards if you choose to. Check out the tutorial below to see Magic Input for patterns in action.
Improvements to Images
As part of the latest update, we’ve also changed how images work. There are now three categories of images for patterns – photos, line drawings and charts. You can select which images you want and assign them to each category during the Magic Input process. Images in existing records can be reassigned to the new categories by tapping to open the image and using the drop down menu at the top to select the new category. Press and hold on a image to reorder it in the list. The image that appears in the first position of the photos category will be the cover image of that pattern.
Different views, different measurements
Sewing patterns often come with different options, known as views, which can have different fabric requirements. We’ve updated the Fabric Required table so you can add a label, meaning you can record requirements for different views and sizes. This allows you to easily check how much fabric you need for a pattern when you’re out fabric shopping!
What do you think?
Your feedback is so important for making Stash Hub the best sewing organiser app! Magic Input for patterns was highly requested in the Stash Hub Club, join the group on Facebook to join community discussions and be the first to hear what’s new. As with all new features, there may be bugs with the first release. Please let us know if you run into any issues with Patterns Magic Input by emailing us hello@stashhubapp.com and including as much information as possible.
What if the pattern is from the Fibremood magazine?
Fibremood usually list the details of their patterns online as you can buy the PDFs individually if you don’t get the magazine. Just tested a pattern from fibremood.com and it worked well. You can still add patterns manually if they’re not online.
